With a strong, proud queer focus, the Little Red Tarot Blog centres and celebrates marginalised voices on spiritual and witchy topics. Our writers are queers and ‘gender-not-normals’, people of colour, survivors and folks with disabilities or non-normative bodies. Some of us are neuroatypical, some are mad. Others are familiar with depression, anxiety and trauma. We all share a passion for exploring our own spiritual paths.
Collectively, we celebrate the magic of our margins, the DIY spiritual practices that get us through, the ways we use magic and ritual and self care to survive and thrive under capitalism, patriarchy and white supremacy. Whether we practice on our own or in community, these are radical, empowering acts in which personal and collective liberation are beautifully intertwined.
Beginning as my personal tarot journal, the LRT blog started on a whim in 2011. I had no idea anyone would ever want to read the damn thing, but as a supportive, encouraging community grew up around my early writing, I realised the need for a space for queer and other marginalised perspectives on tarot (and more). The platform opened to guest writers in 2014 and amazing new columnists have joined our team year on year, alongside a steady stream of awesome guest posts from across the community. Little Red Tarot has long been a source of inspiration and encouragement for #witchyqueers, radical healers and spiritual allies, and a strong collective voice for anticapitalist spiritual praxis.
The blog wound down on 31st October 2018. This archive site collects together every post shared on LRT since its inception, offering up a diverse and wide-ranging exploration of DIY spirituality and radical queer magic.
Please come to this site as you would a sumptuous coffee-table book: as a treat to curl up with, a rich and delicious magazine filled with inspiration and encouragement, how-tos and witch tips. Explore columns that deep-dive into specific areas of spirituality, or get to know our writers one by one. You will also find many deeply personal stories here. Woven into these pages are the journeys of our writers, our hopes and dreams, our loves and our grievings, our excitement and our sadness.
If you take one thing from this wonderful blog, let it be the underlying message of everything we have shared together here:
With huge love, and bottomless gratitude for all this site and community has given me, and to you, for reading.
